Hello,

I'm Raissa Radu

Professional tennis player, dreamer, and fighter on the court.

About Me

My name is Raissa Radu, I am 13 years old, and tennis is more than just a sport for me – it is the dream I live every day. I started playing tennis at the age of 5, and since then, every practice, every competition, and every challenge has helped me grow and improve.

First steps

The first steps I took in tennis were at the STB tennis center, the place where I first picked up a racket. There, under the guidance of one of the best coaches, Gabriel Iordache, I learned the basics and developed my love for this sport. He was always by my side, believing in my potential and supporting me at every stage of my sports journey.

During the pandemic, I was forced to take a break of almost a year and a half, a difficult period in which I couldn't pursue my passion as I would have liked. However, my love for tennis never left me, and as soon as I had the chance, I returned to the court with even more desire to progress.

Internal and external training

I had the opportunity to train at Mouratoglou Academy in France, where I discovered a competitive and professional environment alongside some of the best players of my generation.

Currently, I am training both in Bucharest with Mr. Stefan Enciu and in Dubai at Mouratoglou Jumeirah with Daria Veretennikova.

Daria Veretennikova is a former college tennis player in the United States and has over 7 years of coaching experience in Florida, Miami, and St. Petersburg. She has coached in international tournaments on the ITF and Tennis Europe circuits, working with both juniors and adult players of all levels.

Due to her professionalism and balanced approach, she has helped me significantly improve my technique and gain greater confidence in my own abilities on the court.

Physical preparation

At the same time, I train physically to ensure that I am always prepared for competitions at the highest level. At KinetoFit, Dragoș Luscan's clinic in Bucharest, I train alongside top professionals who work with great Romanian athletes, such as David Popovici. Specifically, I collaborate with Valentin Patru, my physical training coach, who plays an essential role in developing my mobility, strength, and endurance on the field.

Vision Dedication Passion

Each tournament is a new challenge and an opportunity to showcase everything I have learned. Through hard work, discipline, and passion, I pursue my dream and aspire to be among the best tennis players in the world.

💪 Vision: To become one of the best players in the world

🏆 Dedication: Daily training at the highest level

🎾 Passion: A journey that began in childhood, followed with determination

My tennis shots

The technical aspects that define my game and contribute to my performance on the field:

Forehand

My main shot, executed with confidence and power, capable of dictating the pace of exchanges and creating decisive openings in the game.

Backhand

Stable and precise, my two-handed backhand gives me confidence in long rallies and versatility in shots from the left side of the court.

Service

An element in continuous development, my service is becoming stronger and more varied, being the key to starting points in advantage.

Slice & Drop Shot

I use cut shots and short balls to break my opponent's rhythm and take her out of her comfort zone, effectively alternating aggressive play with tactical play.
